Loungers - pics and tutorial link!

I made these for me boy. He never gets the fruits of my labors so I made him these three pairs of lounger pants. They're not really jammies bc the fabric tells me not to use them for jammies but sometimes he falls asleep wearing them...

I make mine with super fat legs because i think it looks cool and use flannel for the fabric as it's pretty soft and comfy and what would loungers be if they weren't comfy. I'll tell you what they'd be, slacks.

These are pretty great because for my almost 7yo i needed less than a yard for each pair and it was on sale for $2.49 at Joann's. I also had the .08 p/yd elastic left over from the cheap patchwork skirt.

well done. For my 6 YO I can still eek out a pair of similar pants from a pillow case. I've snagged flannel pillow cases from yard sales, goodwill, etc. for pennies! I think I've got just about one more growth spurt before this will no longer work!

just fyi you are my complete hero because it boggles my mind that you get all these projects done as a homeschooling mother with a deployed hubby.  like, honestly... i bow to you. You're amazing. in my humble opinion.

those are fantastic!  Dont you just love lounge pants?  I make them for my two girls all the time.  Your son look so very happy!  Great work.

thanks everyone, i need to modify my tutorial with versions for shorts and capris. I just made a cute bermuda short for my baby girl. I want to make me some too!

How cute! I must have some of the star wars flannel!  My son is always feeling left out too. I made him some lounger pants today that he will wear as pajamas.  He was thrilled and I'm sure your guy is too. I'll try to snap some pics tomorrow and post them.  I agree with the previous poster, how on earth do you find time to do this? Start to finish, the loungers I made today probably took 20 minutes, but it was my first try.  Thank you for loaning your husband to the US Gov't to protect us all. God bless

I found the star wars flannel at joann's. it's good quality but let me warn you it's not cheap! I think w/the 40% off it was like $5 a yard, not ridiculously expensive but w/o a coupon it kinda is. I'm going back this week to pick up flannel for my girls to make more jammie pants. Pairing those with a little cami makes for some comfy jammies! I want to make me some too!

Crafting helps me stay sane, gives me a creative outlet that i desperately need! Making stuff for my kiddos is just a bonus. I have other areas i post in too, i just took up quilting. I try and do things that are simple and functional so I don't spend more than maybe 2 days doing something on and off. Things that I can have a stop point at so it's easy to come back to later.

Those are great! I really like the wide legs. You know, its really OK to use them for pjs. The only reason they say not to is because the fabric isn't flame resistant. But flame resistant fabric scares me anyway. It's so weird. And I don't really think that the safety aspects make that much sense. There was a post/discussion about it on here. I'll see if I can find the link.
