over the long holiday weekend, I went to my sister's house. The two of us, together with my mom, made Amy Butler Weekender bags...

My mom used a floral and a striped home dec fabric she found at two different stores, my sis used an Ikea fabric along with a gingham home dec fabric she had, I used striped denim and a toile home dec that I found...

I can tell you that I would NOT have finished my tote if I hadn't been working with mom and sis. I would have set the thing aside and let it mature a lllloooonnnnggg time before finishing it! I sewed through my finger, cut one piece upside down, sewed another piece in upside down...

I'm happy with the results - but *I* know where every little flaw happens to be!

Maybe you see the flaws, but I don't!  These are great!  Well done!

They all look great, I certainly dont see any flaws!  I really need to pick up this pattern.  My kids are getting too old to shove all their clothes in a backpack for an overnight stay at grandma's LOL!

You all did a wonderful job. I have sewn through my finger before. Not fun.

It's not what you know, but what you do with what you know that is important.

They turned out beautifully. How nice that you had a family sew-along, what a wonderful support system. I hope your finger is better, and that you get to enjoy your super new bag on many excursions!

thanks for the kudos Smiley

the best thing ~ I didn't bleed on my fabric! the yellow wouldn't have looked good with a big stain on it before it was even used!

So gorgeous!  I saw that ikea fabric last weekend and loved it,  Now I need to go get some...
It's so great that you were ableto spend the weekend sewing with your family.  I'd love to be able to do that.  So much fun and, like you said, great motivation!

We are in the process of switching over to cloth diapers.  Would love some advice, hint, tips.   Will swap for diapers!
