I am due in June and just found out that my fetus, Soda Seven (named after a Seinfeld episode until we think of "real" names) is a she.

Lawsamercy! Let the crafting BEGIN.

Behold, 'tis Soda's first dress I made for her. Soda will be sporting this at her uncle's outdoor wedding at the end of August, where she will just have turned 2 months old. The wedding colors are brown and green. It's actually wider but it looks skinny in this picture. I do believe I made it too long--it's 16 inches "tall" but I can just scrunch up her legs in there. It's not like she will walk and trip over it!

She'll get a hat that matches!

The brown ribbon came from my ribbon stash.

I hope it fits, at least in the top. I'm not so worried about the length. I based measurements from a 3-6mo. onesie and just made it up as I went.

That's just precious!

I love that you are crafting for the baby before she is born. Good luck to you, tour family and little Soda.  Grin

That is super cute!  Great job and she is sure to get lots of attention in that (not that babies don't normally get lots of attention!).  I took my daughter to a wedding when she was just a few months old, too.  The reception was outdoors and sweltering.  She would have been so much cooler in that cotton dress instead of the pink frilly nylon concoction my SIL got for her!

Great work!  I think it's hilarious how so many babies have silly names until we see them in person.  My Daughter was Agnes Gooch until we met her!  I think the dress is beautiful, and she'll be the hit of the wedding (maybe even versus the bride?!  blashphemy, I know...)

Thanks, everyone. Soda's so excited that she repeatedly kicks me.

uhhhh, that's exactly what both my mom AND my MIL joked about...except we're not really joking.  Lips sealed

I got the fabric at Hancock, and I actually looked it up: Pimatex Basics: Combed Cotton Poplin Fabric in BKT-7916-16 Brown
