I've been dreaming up Twilight crafts recently, between the Twilight Rd. 5 Swap, and the Invite Your Partner Rd. 11 Swap, it seems I'm surrounded by fellow (grownup) Twilight fans.  While reading Breaking Dawn I realized that while people have been crafting up numerous versions of Bella's Bracelet, and pieces inspired by Edward's topaz eyes, no one has made up a version of the Volturi Necklace that Aro sends to Bella.

This took a few tries to get the size of the crystal right, but the chain maille went together quickly and beautifully.  It is a gold tone Byzantine style chain, set with a faceted crystal ball (sorry Pinkleo, but I couldn't afford a diamond "the size of a golf ball"!).

I knew that if I succeeded with the necklace, then it would need to be presented in the medieval inlaid wood box described in the novels.

Opening the box, complete with note from Aro.

The necklace, nestled safely into it's box, tied with satin ribbon to a velvet pillow.

Detail of the chain.

The completed necklace, on a person.  In this case, me.

I would love to do a personal swap!  I can sew, knit, and crochet.  I have a 9 year old who loves to do swaps as well so we can do a mommy/daughter swap package. Smiley
