So, a while back (years, in fact), I posted these little guys:

Well, now I'm trying to figure out how to write out the pattern for them. The trouble is that I don't really crochet by patterns, and I'm much better at following knitting patterns. After sitting down to study my Happy Hooker book for a while, though, I think I've sort of figured it out, but I wondered if any more experienced crocheters would be willing to help me out.

Without further ado, here goes:

A few yards of worsted weight yarn in two different colors
Small amount of black worsted weight yarn for mouth
Size H/8 (5mm) crochet hook
Yarn needle
Polyfill stuffing
Plastic safety eyes, buttons, or more black yarn for eyes

Ch 3 and join with sl st in first ch.
{Ch 1, inc 1} ten times
{Ch 2, inc 1} seven times
Sc until capsule is 1.5 tall, then switch to your bottom color
Sc for two rnds, then stitch on the mouth and attach the eyes
Continue sc until there is 1 of the second color
{Dec 1, ch 3} five times
{Dec 1, ch 1} seven times
Stuff the capsule
Dec every stitch until the bottom is closed

Thanks, all!

Also, feel free to use this pattern (if you can figure it out) for any personal projects.

Want to learn to crochet or knit?  I have a ton of extra crochet hooks & circular knitting needles.  Will throw in some pattern books and yarn for anyone interested in a swap.

Thanks for all the compliments, folks! Please share photos if you decide to make some yourself. And by all means let me know if anything doesn't make sense.

Happiness: I came up with this pattern during a short stint as a pharmacy tech. Some of those capsules are just so darned cute!
