I don't know if anyone has seen this pattern from burdastyle.com yet, but I'm quite enamored with it. I really, really want to try this out, and I figured I'd invite anyone else here at craftster to join me!

http://assets3.burdastyle.com/assets/images/6e/90/6e9038b55f2dc007fe2760c380d8197189408049/400x555.jpg

The members at Burdastyle have created this one out of a number of different types of fabric and I'm thinking about whipping it up in this really neat navy blue with thin green pinstripe cotton weave later this week.

The pattern is only given in a size 36, but I think it would be easily customized to fit just about anyone, I printed off mine just today and tiled all the pieces together. I'm going to lay them out, and compare them to my body measurements and tweak them to fit just right.

It looks as if once all the sizing is right it shouldn't be too difficult to construct. So how about it guys?

Wow! I really like that dress. I've never actually made a dress that FITS. All I know is that pattern sizes mean nothing.... Sad

Is the pattern free?

Funny you should post this today as I finally created an account over there this morining for the sole reason of downloading this pattern. I've been meaning to make this dress forever! I think I'll join as I have to make a fabric run for class this weekend anyway. Maybe a brown tweed for me, just in time for... it to be out of season. Ah well...

Any thoughts on yardage? I haven't been able to find anything on that.

I love that dress! It's super cute.  I would join you, but I don't happen to have access to a sewing machine at university, but thanks you for posting this because I will definitely keep that pattern in mind!

Good luck on your pattern sizing and sewing, I can't wait to see how it turns out.

Ooh, I'm very tempted to play along.  Very cute dress - now to see if I have fabric and time.  Can't wait to see how yours turns out.

I was organizing my BurdaStyle patterns the other day and came across this one and remembered that I loved it so much! (I'm amazed it's still free since a lot of things that I was able to download for free a long, long time ago are now costing money.) But, I'm also a sucker for things with long sleeves. I think I might make it, but don't hold me to that. Wink I honestly find the directions a little... daunting, though.  Cheesy

hardyjenni,
According to the sewing size chart, it's a size 4 for US size.
