I find I've been posting more things to deviantArt than craftster, lately, so I thought I'd share the picture love with you guys.  Wink  Here are a couple shots of the dress and wigs I made for my Soom Beryl (read: silly-expensive-resin-doll)  The dress is based off of 14th century medieval french garments, although I had to change the concept a little because the doll body doesn't squish the way a real person's does.  The seams are hand-finished, and it laces up the front (although I was lazy and just used a needle rather than making eyelets.)

These are after I made the second wig for her, and a friend of mine did a lovely job painting her face.  The shoulder wrap was crocheted out of yarn I got in the december birthday swap (thanks addicted2knitting!) in a free form sort of pattern.  And the extra hand and the beaded labyrinth are actually necklaces I made for a book launch party.

I have been hugely fond of how all this has turned out, so I hope you enjoy!  Smiley  (The rest of the pictures online can be found on my deviantArt, if you're curious.)

What an interesting doll! I really like the dresses you've made. Were they from a pattern, or did you draft them yourself? The wigs totally go with the doll. They're beautiful.

Thank you!

Craftewoman:  The dress isn't from a pattern exactly, since it has to be fitted to the individual figure, but if you're interested in the human version, the woman I learned how to make them from has tutorials online.  I started trying to use this method, and then decided it would be far easier to do a tape over plastic bag mold of the doll's torso (similar to a duct tape dress form) and make pattern pieces from that.
