I just got my sewing machine monday (it was a Christmas present lol). For my first project I wanted to make something small, because I didn't buy a lot of fabric, so I decided to make the jordy bag.

i didn't use interfacing, because i didn't buy any, so it's a little floppy, but i think it came out pretty well since i had never really sewn anything.

Are you serious?
Is this really your first sewing machine project?
No Way

I mean, look at the straight top stitching you did around the top of the purse and on your handles.  You have found your niche.  Don't stop now.  I'll bet you are at the fabric store right now getting more fabric for your next purse.  Please keep posting pics of your projects.  I think you have done a fantastic job on this purse.

PS - Love the red & white polka dot lining fabric.

Heck yeah! I'd say it's great for your first purse! Holy cow...like the poster above me, I wish I could sew straight like that. Great job!  Wink

thanks everyone! it was my first and i'm quite pleased with it. the seams are nearly straight, but i am a perfectionist lol and i love polka dots lol. this was the first thing i had sewn besides when i was little and "helped" my mom make bean bags.

i do credit this site though, because although this was my first sewing project i have been reading TONS of tutorials which gave me inspiration.
