Yay! Missmuffcake, he's cute!

And meepum...wow. Just...wow. I have no idea what it is, but it looks badass. Are the yellow pieces...teeth?
Oh my goodness that is amazing!!!! A dragon right?
It looks like a bio-mechanical spine. It looks really good (and really painful! lol)
OMG fleece_fanatic I LOVE YOU FOR KNOWING WHAT IT IS. YOU ARE AWESOME.

So yeah. Really painful, about 10.5 hours so far.

This is my first tattoo... I know I'm dumb lol.

Bio- as in biological and mechanic as in mechanical = biomech. Which is what my artist, Jeff Croci, specializes in Cheesy

So it is a bio-mechanical spine. I love Tool and after seeing Maynard's tattoo, I knew I had to have some sort of spine on my spine (because I'm cool like that lol) and Jeff came up with this and it's pretty amazing Cheesy

Wow, there is a lot of amazing work in this thread! (I know it's been said, but it's just so true.  Wink)

Here is my first tattoo, I just got in on Saturday.

Anna at Stain Tattoo in Knoxville, TN did it and really improved upon my original design. It's right under my collarbone (my hand covers it when I say the pledge) and hurt so much. Still, I think it was worth it. It's been less than a week and I am so in love with it!

The tulips represent some I saw when I was in Edinburgh, three summers ago. I just fell in love with the city and how I felt about myself when I was there. (I took the train up from Cambridge all by myself. I was in a foreign country all alone and I felt like I could take on the world.) Yin yangs are about balance, which I sometimes struggle with. Also, Edinburgh struck me as a balance of ancient and modern, civilization and untamed wilderness. The quote ("Always roaming with a hungry heart") is from my favorite poem, Ulysses[/i} by Tennyson. It's about traveling and never settling, to always strive to make the changes I want to see in the world. My friend was going to go with me to get it done, but I ended up going by myself. It's rather fitting that it turned out that way, I think.

I've removed the last few comments as the original poster decided to remove his/her post.

Carry on...

Thanks, all! Smiley

Wow, just been catching up from where I left off, there are so many good pieces out there!!

I'm so tempted to get another one now ... I was thinking a unicorn with a tribal design behind it, as it would go with the two I have at the moment ... but I'm not sure .... I'm too broke to have any more tats atm Sad

Sun, moon, and what's the third one? Looks kinda like a lizard or a dinosaur or something, but I can't tell.
