You probably paid a lot less when you got it than you would if you went to him now, what with all that celebrity. Cheesy

No kidding, right?  I was really bummed to find out he's not at my local tattoo shop anymore, because I want another one by him.   Now I find out I probably couldn't afford one by him, even if I sprung for airfare to California....

Oh, well, good for him...bad for me....

I'm glad for him anyway.  There's lots of other talented artists in the Chicago area.  I just hope I don't drive ALL of them away!

haha chase them all away...
"What did you doooo???"

I lost my artist for like... 3 years. Fortunately, I didn't have money to get any anyway, but the guy he apprenticed for (who's a registered sex offender.... sketchy) wouldn't tell anyone where he went. I finally found someone who got work done by him, and he told me he's got his own shop by himself now: Blacksmith Tattoos in Manchester NH. He's gotten really good too, since he's done mine. He's won a bunch of awards at conventions too. Very cool.

My preferred artist also dissapeared for a while. He did my first and third tats, as well as my Mom's, my Aunt's, my coworker's, and is doing my Dark Tower sleeve (in progress)

He had his own shop, but when he closed it, he moved out of the city for a couple years. When he came back, he worked for a biker shop, which I wasn't comfortable with (it was a drug-money laundering front) He finally left that sketchy place, and moved to another store.

When I found out I was pregnant, I went in and let him know that we were on hold until after I'm done nursing, and made him promise to contact me if he moves. I'm ok with work by other artists, but I want him to do this sleeve for me - no one else!

evidently there's a code among tattoo artists, where they wont finish another's work, unless it's absolute trash or you're like... afraid to go back.

At least that's what Mike (my artist) tells me.

The bee is gorgeous!  I am constantly amazed at the beautiful work on here....

I love my tattoo artist, she is amazing.  I have already threatened to hunt her down to the ends of the earth if I have too, shall she ever leave me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with the green.  I think I'll have the outline touched up and leave the rest ugly...

But I took the red really well.  Not a problem at all.

well my first tattoo I blamed the artist...then the second tattoo I blamed the artist...then I started thinking that if it keeps happening then it is probably me and not the artists but we'll see.
