Leave the politics to madmen

Just today I purchased two skeins of Cascade 220.  I would loke to make a messenger type bag, with a flap and long enough strap to throw over my shoulder.  I know of one certain SNBN pattern, that although it calls for Lamb's Pride Bulky, I'm thinking about trying to covert it.  Haveing done this once before with disatrious results, I don't really want to ruin more yarn.

Does anyone know of a good pattern for what I'm looking for, or is anyone good in conversions?  I'm having the sneaking suspicion that I may need more yarn.

Any help will be welcome.
Thanks!!!
~K

I'm making a messenger like variation of Meema's Felted Tote from SNB. Making the base longer and narrower and adding straps and ala the Candy Stripes Messenger bag in SNBN. I'm using Peace Fleece and working with two strands and am estimating that I will use 3-4 skeins. I used 3 skeins for my Meema tote. I'm using all black for this for my sister and went ahead and bought 4 to be safe.

I don't know that if you single strand knit it if it would be strong enough? I think Cascade 220 skeins come in about the same lengths/weights as the peace fleece as it was my alternate choice for my bags.

My bag is in progress, so I can't tell you if it will work. I'm hoping to finish it no later than tomorrow though. So if you can be patient on that, I can post finished pics and give you the pattern I've modified.

Ok. It probably won't get finished today. I made the straps too thick and I have to unravel them. But tomorrow I swear. Otherwise it won't be ready for my sissy's b-day!

All finished up. I like it, but I don't love it. If you'd like the pattern mods I made, just let me know!

I used size 15 circulars (26").
