imafundork and I just completed our in-person swap!  She opted to give me WAY more pieces than this swap called for...and was very happy to get more batiks for her quilt Smiley

My loot from imafundork...many pieces of home decor fabric samples...these are close to or maybe more than a FQ in size, piece of IKEA fabric and other misc pieces in about FQ size, heavy weight gingham that is a yard or so in length, some trims and bias tape too!

Two of my faves...pastel-y mod deco print and a small piece of IKEA orange and red print.  LOVE this!  Was gonna pick this up the last time I was at IKEA...will be going to another IKEA in the Miami area this weekend and hope to get some other great prints.

Other faves...Alexander Henry light pink print, rainbow-y print and a neat floral.

And this is what I gave to her...

5 FQ of batiks...ALL 5 different different prints, plus a piece of Earth Day/recycle themed fabric and a little more than a 1/2 yard of vintage fabric with birds and things on it.

Closeup of the bird fabric...isn't this neato?

Thanks for coming over and swapping with me, imafundork, and thanks for all the great fabric!

The whole lot:

The cute little applique:

The vintage toy fabric:

The other 4 pieces. I asked her to send two of the same fabric so I can make a tote bag so I got two of the pink and black polka dot:

Thank you so much nemejia!

@thesapphiremoon:  wow, so much loot!!!!  how fun to swap in person!  that pastely mod deco print looks really cool.  I hope  imafundork will post her loot pictures later.  yay!   So did I read correctly that she gave you batiks so you can make a quilt for her?

@deannalynn06, besides a tote bag, what else do you plan to make?

I will probably cut the pink and green dot fabric into strips for my next strippy quilt it is going to be black white and pink. I don't know yet what I am going to use the vintage toy fabric for, but I'm sure I will come up with something good, maybe a soft baby book...

OMG, So I know I'm kind of an over achiever, but I already made something with the fabric. I was going to do a large tote, but I have been drooling over the Sew, Mama, Sew tutorial they put up yesterday using just 2 fat quarters. I knew as soon as I saw the owl fabric it would make the perfect purse. I dug out my handle that I never had a use for and got to work. Let me tell you, this is the most time I have ever spent on a purse. It took me 2.5 hours from start to finish. I accomplished following 4 different tutorials, learning 2 new skills (zippered pocket, and magnetic clasps). I am so proud of this purse, I haven't taken the grin off my face, and I want to go somewhere just to show it off. So here it is:

I managed to only make one mistake. I accidentally cut one of the owl pieces upside down, but I caught it before I sewed anything, so I was able to cut a new piece. I am going to make a wallet to match, later tonight or tomorrow.
