This is my first bag I actually took my time on.  The material is a canvas like material for the bag, and cotton remnant for the handle.

The bag itself is made from a table placemat I got from goodwill for 25 cents.

Tell me what ya think.

Basically all I did was fold the bag in half, wrong sides facing together, and then press.  I then did two pleats on each side, pin and press.  I turned the bag inside out to sew the side seams, and then sewed the black and white top to it.  I think used safety pins to pin the straps, because I liked the way the pins looked. And that was it. BAM! cute bag.

Now Im waiting for my husband to come home so we can go to lunch and I can show the bag off.

Love the pleats!  I was just thinking of doing another bag with pleats today...(gave the first one away!) and drew up a rough sketch.  Yours looks great! If your hubby is like mine, don't judge the bag or success by the hubby's comments....men don't understand!!

Thanks for sharing!
