I was asked to make someone a laptop bag -- and I'll get paid for it.  So it has to be very nice.  I was asked that it fit the laptop (which has a 17 inch monitor) and that it accommodate the battery pack/charger doo-hickey.  I have to make up a prototype first to make sure I get everything right.

Any recommendations pocket size for the charger, any other pockets you'd recommend?

What about padding/interfacing?  I'd like something to give it at least a little padding.

The AC Adapter plus cord is pretty big for a 17" notebook. You might want to have them bring it to you to take measurements. My Son has a 17" and his Adapter is way bigger than mine for my 15".

Depending on if they use one or not, you might need a pocket for the mouse.
