ok the deal is that i've already finished the back and i'm halfway thru the front, so i'm not stopping now, but since i'm on a tight budget i'm making this hoodie out of acrylic. is that bad?

I don't think that that is bad....probably becuase i just bought yarn for this project and since i totally couldn't find/afford  the proper yarn..i just went with a part wool, part acrylic yarn..it feels really nice and is the right weight..so i figure i will be fine.
i'm sure you will be fine too  Smiley

As soon as I finish the &%$* Big Bad Baby Blanket, I'm going back to my hoodie and making the hood & stitching it together. I'll post pics when that fine day comes.

I made my hoodie in acrylic just because it was my first sweater and I didn't want to spend that much on it in case I hated knitting a whole sweater.  Anyways, I did finish it and I like it o.k., although I wouldn't make another sweater in acrylic....all the work it takes to make a big project like that, I want to use good yarn from now on:-)

I did that too, using acrlic that is. Mine turned out ok but the gauge was a bit off so its kind of monstrous. I like it though because i can wash it. The best part about finishing something is when you tell people you made it and all the super reactions you get.

I totally agree about hearing other people's reactions when they learn you made something yourself.  It's funny....people love to make fun of me because I knit, but they are always impressed when they see something I've completed....hmmm....

Here it is! *Finally* a picture of my finished hoodie! (Only 2.5 months or so late, but hey, it's just getting cold enough here for sweaters!)

It's a little itchier than I had hoped, but it's very warm and I love the colors! (I hate this pic otherwise. But at least the sweater looks decent, right?)

Remember, it will be less itchy when it's actually cold!
