Jar of Whimsies 4 Gallery

I got my package from goldfinch today, which travelled amazingly quickly!  It was full of all sorts of fantastic little parcels in boxes and waxed paper packets and wrapped in fabric, but the picture I took before unwrapping everything was horribly out of focus, so you'll just have to imagine that bit.  Here's the complete array:



Assorted novelty yarn scraps (I've been collecting these, and there are some fantastic ones in here), and shredded sheet music that she used as packing:


Buttons!!! and some neat feathers, and a couple of other things, most of which came out of a couple of old string envelopes (fantastic!):


Assorted small bits of interesting paper, book plates, & a couple of super-heavy cards:


A box full of test tubes with little bits of nature in them (seeds, shells, feathers, beetle wings, and yes, that's a tiny starfish), plus two mysterious electric components I feel I should be able to identify but can't.  The round things in the black box have pin backs (which I did not stab myself on!) and there's also the cutest little bottle, and bits of a broken music box...


And (last one, I promise!) a break-your-own-Geode (I haven't broken it yet...) and a bag of beads, and another bag of various fascinating metal bits, and a round glass lens behind the geode:


...and I'm sure I'm forgetting to mention something, but there was too much interesting stuff to take in all at once!  Thanks, goldfinch!  That was a great package!

OMG !! THAT is a cool ass whimsies package. You could look through those treasures for days. It makes me dream and wonder about where it all has been. I cant wait to see the wonderful things you make from all that stuff.

Wahoo! Oh, I'm so glad you like the stuff, Thanate. (I'm also glad there was no stabbing.  )  Just so's ya know, the electrical parts you may be questioning are little preamp tubes for guitar amps.   I know it was a ton of stuff, but I was just so inspired by your lovely Soom Beryl, and I just had plenty to get out of my space. Thanks again for a wonderful swap!
