Morality, like art, means drawing a line someplace

I'm working on a pencil study. I'm hoping to create a painting once I'm finished with the study. Here is my progress so far. I really need to carve out more time in my busy day to work on it, but I like how its coming along.

Actually I have yet to pull off a successful painting. That's why I'm doing a pencil study first. I like the feel of hard graphite or charcoal on the paper. Brushes throw me off, but I'm trying to force myself to learn.

Thanks!

It looks a bit like her boob bevel is a bit too low and off kilter. Not sure if that's what you were going for or not. Also so far she's all one tonal range. Again not sure if thet's what you were going for or not. If so I find myself wanting to see some of the extreme shinies of her "body" on her face and hair too. I also kinda wanna see a midtone checkerboard behind her all wonky and maybe a cute sunflower sun. or something to balance her out on the left side. Also adding a little shadow on the bottom of her nose to define the plance break of her septum will help to give her a cuter nose.

Cute girls are hard.. really really hard. And your girl is cute, so definitely pat yourself on the back for that, and do her justice by finishing her up and giving her a cute background Smiley
