So I was checking out the booth listings for Cooper Young Fest in the Lamplighter and I saw that Midtown Craft Mafia has a booth and my eyes popped because I did not know they existed. There is no word of it on the internets...anyone out there have a clue?

You know, I went to C-Y Fest and met up with the folks at the Midtown Craft Mafia booth. They had some nice wares and seemed like great people, but when I wrote to the email address they gave me, I never got a reply. I don't know, it seemed kind of snobby. Maybe it was me. Anyway, they aren't affiliated with the actual Craft Mafia, so that is probably why they weren't searchable.

Memphis is tough for crafters. It seems that there is no community spirit. I understand the desire to create alone, but sometimes support is good. You know?

I'm a fellow midtowner and I've wondered if there was anything going on in Memphis. I've only seen groups for knitters and that's probably the only craft I can't/don't do.  Cheesy

I would like to learn to knit, but there's so much else out there. I think an embroidery group would be fun. But there isn't much going on craft-wise in Midtown. Maybe we could start something?

I'd be interested in that, but I'm just not sure how to get something started. Any ideas?

I knit and I've joined the local stitch n bitch group but haven't actually been to a meetup because of the timing. Plus I'm shy.  Tongue

What kinds of crafts do you guys do? I'm a dabbler - I dabble in everything from polymer clay to paper. I'm not in Midtown, but I have glue, will travel.  Smiley

I'm in midtown and I'm sorta crafty.  I do a little of everything but went to MCA for drawing. Can't really sew or knit, but I'm trying. Would love more paper/bookmaking skills. I've made a few stuffed animals... I love mail art/zines.
Anyhoo, if you guys get something together let me know!
