I did it! I made my first top! Its from McCalls 5640.  I have never made clothing and i dont really know how to read patterns but I figured it out and if it was something I didnt understand I just made it up.

awesome job! I would have never guessed that was your first piece - that gives me confidence to make one myself!
I need to find that pattern here - been looking for a good plus sized top with an overbust band instead of the underbust that so many have.

Your top looks great!  Can't believe it's a first for you. I had to go to the pattern website to check out the pattern and it has lots of options to choose from.  I have it written down on my "gotta buy this" list all tucked away in my wallet!  Thanks for sharing!
