This is Beena, (named after ribena because of her colour) and if you hadnt realised, shes a dinosaur.  Shes been amigurumied in my usual style of just making it up as I go along.

Shes very quiet and shy, maybe because the rest of her friends are extinct?  I'm going to try and rectify that within the week.  Ive been wanting to amigurumi a dinosaur for ages so she kinda just popped out as I was crochetting

Shes one of my most favourite creations to date, although she does seem to be standing on my current work in progress (a star afghan quilt thingumy)  So I dont know how long shes going to remain un-extinct

The spikes are all one long line of shell crochet stitch which came out much better than i was expecting. I think if i was going to do her again i'd make her in a pale pink colour with slightly bigger eyes. I'll try that later this week. I want her to have a friend

I do like the colours I did her in but at the same time I think she would have benefitted from being a slightly lighter shade.
Im thinking about doing a whole range of dinosaurs but I dont know which to try next.  Pteradactyl perhaps or t-rex,  It would be cool to have a variety of dinos so that they can have little crafty adventures together

First off, this is adorable.

Secondly, I think this looks like Littlefoot from the movie, The Land Before Time. Which is clearly AWESOME.

I agree that he should have some friends, like Sarah and Petrie. Oh, and Duckie, yup yup!

WOW thanks everyone for such awesome feedback *feels all happy and loved*  Beena is about 20 cms long and and about 13 cms high she didnt take very long to do at all. (would have taken even less time had i not also been watching 'being human' at the same time *giggles*)
Now that you mention it she does look like littlefoot im not sure I like that littlefoot kinda annoyed me.  Still a duckie would be cool to make mebbe I'll try that type of dino next

I should say her full name is Rawr beena LOL its almost ribena

I find crochet really easy to learn I taught myself by watching youtube videos on how to crochet a granny square then went off and got into amigurumi. It is really straight forward ...(well its not really straight at all amigurumi is round and round) seriously though if I can do it anyone can.   good luck and it makes me happy to think that i've inspired someone.
