I've been told you can make yarn from plastic soda bottles, but I have been searching for almost a year now, and have no idea, nor have talked to anyone that knows how to do that. Does anyone here know? Is it something you have to have factory type equipment for, or can I make it in my own kitchen?

I've made plastic yarn from shopping bags, but I've never heard of doing it out of soda bottles. Have you tried youtube? That's where I learned to make plarn.

I'd never seen it, but that tree is beautiful. I'm glad you asked about it. Smiley

This is the best explanation I can find about making plastic bottle thread.

Having tried this myself, I can tell you the hardest part is the cutting. It takes some practice, and a very steady hand. Thankfully it isn't hard to find plastic bottles!

Hope this helps!
