I did a search and didn't see this posted already... I did something a little different with my pin cushion... I added a wrist band w/ velcro so I can detach the pin cushion if I need to.

The pin cushion is a basic pillow form (about 2x4 inches) stuffed w/ batting and the wrist band is a minature scrunchie - fabric surrounding elastic.  I added velcro to both so I could detach the pincushion if I needed to.

Just make sure you don't push the pins all the way through the pincushion...ouch!

There is so much batting in there that you have to push down really hard to get them to all the way through.  Thankfully.  Smiley

I love that idea, my pins don't stick to my small pin magnet very well anymore. I may just try this Smiley

I love the idea of the velcro. I just made a big fat round one. <3
And being able to take it off a wrist band would be lovely.
Thanks for the idea. Cheesy

If you're worried about the pins going through the batting you can always add a thick bit of interfacing, or even a cardboard scrap to the bottom piece of fabric.

And nice idea with the velcro- that makes a really great, usable cushion!
