Ireland is not actually a part of the UK, northern ireland is, so in actual fact, there should be northern ireland in the UK board and republic of Ireland should be in the European board..

I know I know 800 years of history caused the problem and its not going to be fixed overnight!

There are differences though, different currency, cheaper to mail stuff from the north of Ireland to the UK mainland, than it would be to send a package over the border.

To put it in context. it'd be a bit like saying that Canada is a part of the US>

only in some cases a LOT more dangerous! [grin] I can see why it's a mistake made by some Americans etc (that sounds awful, but I don't mean it to - just that you're further away from here!) but speaking as an English person with a lot of Irish connections it *does* happen that people from S. Ireland get really pissed off by being called part of the UK. The war about that exact thing only just ended, and my dad once nearly got caught in the blast of a bomb due to this, and people still die due to it occasionally...

When she was good, she was very very good - but when she was bad she was fabulous.

yup I've just been to belfast with the uber sexy BF and the place is still riven by hostilities.

Actually the biggest problem with the board where it is. is that if you dont know to look under the UK, you will assume that there is not an Irish board at all. It took me ages to find it when I first found this site. I just assumed that everyone on here was from the US

We actually fixed this a long time ago because of your suggestion and we forgot to check back here!  Lips sealed  The board now says:

U.K. AND IRELAND
UK and Irish craft stores, craft fairs, craft meetups and other crafty discussion.
Boards: ENGLAND, SCOTLAND, WALES, IRELAND

That's alright, right?
