As soon as I saw this challenge, I knew I could come up with a visual motivator to stop me starting projects then abandoning them half way for the next exciting thing!

I purloined some old plastic gravy jars from my mum (who keeps everything!), helped myself to my hubbie's drill and a wooden pole, and got some pretty thread to hold everythig together.... et voila!

The idea is to put a marble in the left hand jar for every project I start, then put one in the right hand jar for everything I finish! I wanted to go and buy marbles, but we've been snowed in so I couldn't get to the shops.

When I told a friend about the project, she immediately laughed and asked if making the scales counted as a project. Of course it should! As I don't have marbles yet, I put in some ink pads to illustrate and keep track until the roads are clear enough to go on a marble buying mission.

If you look closely at the second photo, you can see that the last 'T' is upside down! I only noticed when I was about to take pics, and it was 11.30 on a work night, so I decided that fixing it could wait for another time!

Thanks for looking, this is my first posted creation, although I am a long-time lurker and admirer.

Grin  This is awesome!  A great visual to remind you not to get so into new projects that you forget the unfinished ones.  I need something like this.  My art/craft room is filled with unfinished, barely started projects.

Whoa, good idea!! Wait...Excellent idea!! A bit large but I'm sure it can easily be made on a smaller scale. And I just might do that..!

Oh this is very pretty...I bet it would look really pretty in a window too...
I love it, and I bet it'll look even better with the marbles in it.  Cheesy

This is a really fun idea and I can see how it would keep someone motivated. I hate for things to be out of balance, so that would be an extra incentive to finish things!

Now that is a good idea. My husband would be all in favor of me having some kind of visual reminder like this!

This is a great idea. I hate things that are out of balance. My chore would be to make sure to add the started projects marbles...

thats wonderful!  i need a visual reminder like that to remind  me to finish what I start... but the marbles would be so heavy in the started side I think it might scare me out of finishing it all.... Daunting eh?
