I recently bought this amazing dress at the salvo. However I'm fairly petite and have a large chest. It's prob a size 6 dress but made for someone around a B cup. I'm a 34dd and always find this to be a pain when dress shopping. I'd like to try to enlarge the cup area of the dress but am not sure how to go about this. I do not need to change the actual body of the dress, it fits perfectly. I took out the pads that were in the chest part of the dress but I actually need to somehow take apart the gathered part of the chest and increase/raise it about 2 inches. Does anyone have any suggestions? If i wear it at the band of where a bra would be I have several inches of bra exposed, and if i wear it where it was meant to be it severely smushes and cuts about half way into my breast which looks and feels awful.  It's really a beautiful dress and I'm dying to wear it. Help!!

Could you decrease the gathering by rip out the stitches and sew over the smoothed fabric without throwing off the design? That would give you extra fabric coverage. It's a bit difficult to give out advice without a picture or description of the dress.

I tried to post a picture but apparently according the craftster rules, unless you've posted 10+ times you are not able to put any up. So eventually I'm hoping to be able to do that. Thanks for the suggestion though.
