How much roving (in ounces) would I need in order to make an adult-sized pair of thrummed mittens? I've never ventured into the world of spinning and I've never purchased roving so I'm not sure how much I should get.  Huh

Thanks!!

I suppose you should post this in the spinning questions and answers, and not the knitting ones!

What sort of yarn weight are you looking for (will you ply it or use a single ply?), how many yards do thrummed mittens take, and what kind of roving are you looking at??

how_german, according to this website 2 ounces should do it.

knkurz, thrummed mittens have bits of roving knit into them to make them warmer, so the question had nothing to do with spinning Smiley

Whoops, sorry  Grin  I saw spinning in the first post and assumed, never having made thrummed mittens before.  Good luck!
