Hello Windy City Craftsters!  I'm planning a special weekend retreat for my craft friends and we are looking for a hotel or bed & breakfast in a area where we can find artsy shops and craftster type yarn/paper stores.  I'm looking at the wicker park area simply because I've been there - but if there is a better neighborhood I'd love suggestions!  Thanks

Actually, I think WP is a good place. There's a lys right on division/Ashland, and you'll be near used book and music shops. There's also a Joann Fabrics near there as well. I live in Logan Square, just a bit north of there, and I think it's a great crafty neighborhood!

Thanks Nymphara -

would you reccommend staying downtown (Loop area) in one of the big hotels?  I would love to stay at the Wicker Park Inn - but we may not all be able to get rooms there.
