Yarn Suggestion?

So, I've decided I want to make an entrelac throw with yarn that is multi colored with a large repeat (think Noro Kureyon, Noro Silk Garden, or Kauni Effektgarn 8/2  - like this: http://www.gailsyarns.com/servlet/the-146/Kauni-wool/Detail#itemadded)

However, everywhere I read people seem to say they are all scratchy.  My guess is Silk Garden is the least scratchy, but it's still not very soft.  Can anyone think of any yarn with beautiful colors like this with the long color repeats that is softer, or at least not scratchy?  I'm not picky about gauge - dk or worsted preferred, but even sport or fingering would be ok.  Also, if it's machine washable, that's a bonus, but I won't hold my breath on that criteria!

I have a scarf made out of Noro Taiyo, and I think it is MUCH softer than Kureyon.  I also used scraps of the Taiyo in my crochet stash-busting afghan and it is fine (for my taste at least!!)
