We should start a Craftster-exclusive store. People can put up their one-of a kinds for sale here and either have it be like a regular store or an auction site...  (I hope this hasn't already been suggested)... what do you think?

Well, I can see how kiell's proposal is a little different than the classifieds... the classifieds are more for craftster to craftster, right?  I think maybe she meant (correct me if I'm wrong, kiell! :-) somewhere that people outside of crafster would eb inclined to shop.

I think it would be awesome, but I realize that it would be quite an ordeal b/c of all the legal stuff that would go into being responsible for an aucition/sales site, such as what happens if someone doesn't get their item? Or payment? Who intervenes? What about fees for listings or whatever?

If someone would be willing to tkae that on, it would be so awesome, but at the same time sooo much work!

Well I agree that it would be complicated, at least to get it running, but I love the idea.  Maybe for people who have just 1 or a few things to sell, or like me, who doesn't have enough time to produce enough to run a store but wouldn't mind selling one of my works now and then.  Wink I like it. Also, it would be cool if there was an option to sell by Auction or Flat Pricing. I hope this happens someday!

It is a complicated thing.  Because really you have to go to some of the great lengths that eBay has gone to to ensure that things run smoothly.  I love this idea though!

Can you guys describe more about what exactly you'd like to for features and listing prices, etc etc...

It seems like it could be something similar to the site that Austin Craft Mafia has but on a much larger scale, where it looks like one "store" with one "checkout", but several artists.  Though, I know it would just plain be a HUGE undertaking, and I can't even begin to think how you'd set it up to work properly.  Just thinking about it overwhelms me  Huh

Do you have a link to the Austin Craft Mafia's store? I went to their website but I couldn't find it...

If there's a lot of folks selling crafts on ebay, you could start an ebay community of craftster members, then add a little tag to each auction noting that you are part of the craftster clan (like just a little banner at the bottom of the auction).
Just a thought.

*points to sig*
there's a diy auction site, which unfortunetly doesn't have many members at this time, but there's no listing fees or anything like that, i'd really like to see that community grow...
