So, I thought I was the crafty one in the relationship. My boyfriend is great, he always wears or uses whatever I make, no matter how ugly or uncomfortable it turned out! So I was greatly surprised to come home from class one day and find these scattered all over my desk!

A close up of the stars. He put smiley faces on ALL of them!

He scattered them all over the top shelf of my desk (please pardon my messy shelves!)

A close up of the paper jar he made for me to keep them in. It's funny because he came over and asked to borrow my crayons, but wouldn't tell me for what! He colored that side of my name in my favorite color and put my name on the opposite side in his favorite color :]

I know these stars are probably pretty easy to make, but I had no idea he was crafty or creative at all! And I just loved that he had the patience to sit there and make all of these (which I wouldn't have patience for!) and I liked the story behind them. He told me that in some Asian countries (I think mostly Korea) a boy will make a bunch of these paper stars and put them in a jar and give them to a girl, and they're a sign of love, commitment, and devotion. He said that sometime he'd like to get some nicer decorative paper and make bigger ones, but I love these ones just fine!

I learned today how to make them, and i really really like them. I plan to recycle some old magazines trough making them into stars, and then I will put them together to a garland and give to my friend as a birthday present.  Smiley

they are easy to make, but they take more than just a little practice to get good at, and they take loads of time to make. that's a sweet tradition, you have a sweet boyfriend  Smiley. if you want to learn how to make them, youtube has many helpful tutorials on them, you just type 'origami star' or 'how to fold paper stars', or something else to that effect Wink

To prevent them from reading his mind, he wore a tinfoil hat at all times.

Haha, awww that's cute!

My bf made me a bunch of paper cranes for Vday (among other things) and strung them together on yarn so I could hang it up :]
