So I couldn't think of anywhere else to put this. (So if it needs to be moved feel free Wink ) But I had to talk to my fellow crafts swappers about the possibility of cutting another day from delivery! I already hate Sundays (the lack of mail on Sunday that is), and now they want to cut another day too? Personally I would get rid of Saturday delivery if a day had to be cut, I mean UPS and FedEx already don't deliver on Saturdays either. So, for those of you not in the US, do you get mail delivered 6 days a week? How do you think this will affect swaps? I don't think it will hurt to much, just more swap anxiety Smiley

Last I heard, they were thinking of Tuesday since it's the slowest delivery day (I haven't read your link yet).

I don't think it will do any harm to swaps at all. Smiley

Yeah, I know they want to cut Tuesday... It would just be irritating to try to mail mid-week and have the post office closed. I just can't believe they are looking at that as a possibility,

I almost always use the APC, so I don't think it would even phase me. Cheesy

I hope they don't take out Tuesdays. Our P.O. already doesn't do Saturdays, so I hope they'll just stay that way. Only having access 4 days a week would be lame.

What is the APC?

I want them to keep Saturday.  I work doing the weekdays and if I have to go pick up a package, it is near impossible, let alone mail out one.  I am lucky that we have one post office that is open later than others, but if they cut those hours, I am going to have to take vacation time to mail packages.  Who knows, that just may end my swap addiction once and for all.  Sad

I don't mind Tuesday being closed.

I think all of Canada [at least where I am] doesn't get Saturday delivery. And apparently some places have post offices open, but not by me.

i read about that in the paper the other day.  i heard it'll either be Saturday or Tuesday that gets cut.
i don't think it'll affect swaps too much, as long as the new no mail day is kept in mind when you pick the send out date.

APCs (Automated Postal Centers) are self-service kiosks in the lobbys of some post offices.  They weigh, measure and post your package and then you drop them in a package drawer.

They are great! The APC is the only way I get to mail things because the post office is never open when I want to mail something. I am more worried about not getting things as opposed to sending them. But if they are never open, how am I going to buy cute stamps to send to my pen pals? If I order them online Ill have to wait, and if the post office is only open when I work... Ill just have to get some patience wont I  Roll Eyes
