I am confused with how to do the rounds of the base... If any body could possibly help me it would be great...

Is there a link to the pattern somewhere? Maybe we could take a look to see what is confusing Smiley

I have the pattern. Maybe if you could tell me exactly which part you are having trouble with, I could make a video showing how to do it.. just tell me what page you're on and which round you are stuck on.

Thanks guys for posting a response back to me...

I usually learn from crochet books but I find I learn better visually... If you could make a video that would be awesome!

Crochet J... I am on page 2 on part BODY BASE... I understand the part where it tells me to chain 13... I can do that...

Rnd 1 (Right side): 2 Sc in second ch from hook, sc in each ch across to last ch, 3 sc in last ch; working in free loops of beginning ch (fig. 3b, page 22); sc in next 10 chs and in same st as first sc; do not join, place marker to mark beginning of rnd ... 26 sc.

Ok I get confused on rnd 1 when I have to work in free loops of beginning ch and then it just skips over to sc in next 10 chs and in same st as first sc;

ok that makes no sense to me....

If you could do a video showing me how to do rnd's 1-5 that would be awesome... I was trying to look online for a video of some one making it but I found nothing to my avail...   I would appreciate it so much...

This bag is so confusing to make ... I have been pulling out the work so much it started driving me nuts like this is a real challenge...

THANK YOU! maybe once I figure it out I could make you one to repay you for showing me how to do it...

Star I knew I should have typed the pattern up so that you could understand what I was talking about sorry about that...

I just made a video for someone about this same thing a few weeks ago except it was for the bottom of a pair of booties. Maybe it will help if you watch that one and in the meantime, I'll go make another one for this base.

They are wanting you to crochet in the free loops of the chain that you made, please watch the video and hopefully I explain it well enough there, but if not, I'll be making a video of me doing rnds 1 - 5 for the purse in the meantime. It is because they are telling you to crochet in the free loops that you are having trouble with it.

Here is the video:

there is an option on the bottom right side to watch video in high quality, that will help to see it better.

I'll go make one for the purse bottom...just have to get everything together. I'll use bigger yarn for this and hopefully, it will turn out clearer than the other one.

Okay, I've made the videos now. I didn't have a very old camera helper so they are a bit shaky. I hope you'll be able to see it okay. You sure have a lot of work ahead of you, I'd love to see how it turns out.

I'll be posting the links to the videos after they complete being uploaded. Shouldn't be much longer now.

Okay, here is round 1 and 2 so far...it is going slow to upload...

and 2

I'll post the links to the rest just as soon as they finish uploading. Sorry the quality isn't as good as I'd like. I'll have to set up some sort of tripod to hold the camera next time, my assistants are too giggly and wiggly Wink

Okay, now round 3 is up. I don't know what we did wrong, but the end is gone. You just continue on though as the pattern says to do on rnd 3
