So after watching FN MTV Premieres a few weeks ago, I really, desperately want a jumpsuit like the one Katy Perry wore:

I tried looking for a pattern for something like this, but to no avail.

How would you go about making one? I do have sewing skills, not so much as drafting an actual pattern, but I can measure and cut out pieces.

Go vintage my friend. Late 70's and early 80's all kinds of jumpers were trendy. Try Etsy, Ebay & (your best bet) thrift stores for a jumper pattern. Modifying for the diagonal zipper will be less of a challenge once you have a jumper pattern.

Darn you Katy Perry and your catchy sexual songs and awesome clothes...

The only thing I can think of is finding a pattern for a shirt like the top of her romper, then a pattern for shorts like the bottom of her jumper, then sewing them together... if that makes sense!
