Hello!

I'm new to the area and am looking for better quality fabric to make higher end clothing.  I noticed Chinatown has some fabric stores, but was wondering if any of you could recommend one store over another?  Friendly service? Great selection?

Anything a step or 3 up from JoAnns would be great please.

I'm looking for wools, silks, cotton blends.

Thank you!

i'm a huge fan of winmill. the staff is insanely nice and has been so consistently so i started sewing last year, asking them millions of questions. the fabric tends to be a little pricey but the advice makes up for it. also...the dollar sale patterns rock and the thread/notions selection is great for a non-joanns/michaels, family owned single-store place. i love it!

Winmill is definitely fabulous. I'm new to Boston (in my freshman year of college) and I was really worried I wouldn't be able to find any great places to get fabric. I searched around on the internet and heard great things about Winmill, and it's all true! There's a great selection and the staff is wonderful. You should DEFINITELY go.
