About...oh...a year and a half ago I think, I decided to start a blanket. I had seen one in the book Craftivity
that I quite liked, it was based off hippie blankets in the 70's; basically it was a bunch of circles attached free form in whatever stitches you feel like. I didn't know how to do squares, but I did know how to do circles from making hats, so I said, "this is the blanket for me!" Fast forward a year and a half later, and I'm like, "So, this is the blanket for me, huh?" Seriously, it kinda hurts the eyes to look at. Well, see for yourself.
Here are close-ups of the circles that are surrounded by stitches of different kinds/colors.
As for size, it's big enough for two people who like each other, and goes up to the armpits.
Are you ready for the whole thing? Here it is anyway.
I backed it with a fleece blanket, and left it open on the edge so you can sandwich in if you want.
This is slightly more close up. Kinda looks like a topography map. on acid.
It looked more like a rug to me, but I was afraid I'd sink into a hazy 70's vortex when I stepped on it. But then we got a new couch, and it actually looks pretty smart draped over it.
So that's it. Hope your eyeballs are still intact. Thanks for looking! Feel free to berate me.
