I just started a new afghan that I'm making for my mom for mother's day.  I might be a little ambitious but hey I'm young...I sure would love the motivation of some outstanding craftsters to join me!

My mother really wanted these colors...so I had to order the remanding amount of yarn...and so this is where I'm at and I won't be able to add on until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

I found the pattern at this amazing blog.  There is also a link to a related flickr pool on the blog too....

If you went to the link then you now how colorful, creative, and beautiful it could really be.  My mom just likes the neutrals.  PLEASE JOIN ME with this craft-a-long.  It's going to be AWESOME!

I really love those colors. It reminds me of spilled coffee on book pages. Beautiful.

Hi!
I am new to this, so am wondering what these crochet-a-longs are about? Do we all try to crochet the same project and post pictures as we go? It sounds like fun. I like the picture that you had the link to with all the colors on it, looks like a great way to use up some of my scrap yarn...I just have trouble weaving the ends in so that you can't see all the places I changed colors...

Do you know a good way to do that?

Your starting already?  Wow.  I agree that the colors look like spilled coffee.

I'm in! I've been crocheting for about 15 years and I'm an afghan junkie Smiley but I've never made an afghan with hexagons so I'm excited!

Yea, I'm glad someone else in this big wide universe will do this with me!

Crochet J:  Yes this is a place for us crocheters to do the same project at the same time and can ask questions about the pattern, motivate each other to continue on and finish, and show pictures of the progress.
As far as weaving ends in goes, I'm not that good at it either.  Sometimes I just tie a know and cut of the ends.:::I bet that is some kind of crocheting no-no and will eventually ruin whatever I made.   So I guess I should figure that out myself.  : P

I made this afghan for a X-mas gift.  I used the same blog for the pattern.

I love this blanket. How long does it take to do one hexagon? I'm also doing the 12 inch square cal's on Ravelry and Craftster so I dont want to take too much on, lol.

Wow, I love the look of this.  It looks like flowers instead of hexagons...it's so great!  Good job.
