So, my mom ordered up her birthday present.  I'm 32 and she still wants stuff made by me.  She wanted this:

but I made her this:

Quilling is very hard to photograph, at least for me, so here are some close ups

I hope she likes it.  I can't get it to her b/c we are in the middle of an ice/snow storm.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments!  Sometimes I'm more interested in what you craftsters think than the recipient.  When its for your mom you know she's going to say nice things...by the way, she did love it.  But it is nice to hear comments from you guys too.  Thanks!

Your close-up photos came out GREAT!  I know its tough to photograph such small pieces of paper. Your quilling artwork is lovely!

I really like the black background of the original piece, but I also really like the piece you made for your mom.  Love the butterflies.  Looks like it would be easy in idea, but getting the pieces to all line up that well, marvelous!
