I don't have a cat, mainly because my hubby is allergic to cats. He LOVES cats and tends to pet them anyway but then his eyes get all red and he cant stop sneezing for like an hour. lol

Thanks for the two partners! I can't wait to get started. I think I'll be early again this round, I'm really antsy to start putting my afghan together. Although how do you all figure out how many squares you need? is it just the length and width of your bed each divided by 8"?

That will find out how many squares you need in each row/column, but then you need to multiply those numbers together to get the total amount of squares. For example, a small lapghan measuring 32"x40" would need 4 squares by 5 squares, for 20 squares total.

I just took a square put it on the side of the bed as long as I wanted it to drape and scooted it a whole square and counted. So, my bed is 9 squares wide and 12 squares tall so 12X9=108 squares

Ok great, thanks! My bed is a king so thats 76 x 80 inches, which will equal to 10 squares x 10 squares, so that's 100 squares! and I'll probably make a border myself  to make it drape a little.
So far i have 14 out of 100 squares. Grin

I must say, this is shaping up great...

I bought yarn in colours I wouldn't normally pick for myself, which let me look at things a little differently. I've picked squares that I may not normally make for myself, which lets me learn something new, and it gives me a break from all the sewing I've been doing recently, which lets me spend some time with my spouse while I'm crafting.

It's also nice to have a smaller project, that doesn't involve rotary cutters, sharp pins and needles, or hot glue. My poor fingers have been burned, stabbed and cut (ouch!) lately.  Roll Eyes

I've finished my squares, but it could be as late as Friday before I send. Don't be too impressed, though.  Wink I've been in bed sick for four days, so I had plenty of time to work on them.  Tongue

I'm finishing the last square for one of my two partners. I will be sending tomorrow if weather permits. It's been raining over here in California so my hubby has had to take my car to work.

I've finished 2 for one partner, and I think I'm going to start on number 3 now before I go to orchestra tonight.
