I have no idea why i decided to start crocheting in the middle of the hottest Australian summer since 1908.- jeez right now i am sitting in my home sweating like a baked ham and thinking of jumping fully clothed into the shower!

here are my very first crochet projects completed in 42 degree heat (thats a whopping 107degrees farenheit people! i could bake a cake in this heat!) well enough complaining and onto the projects!

soft 100%wool yarn, with beautiful wood buttons that will develope a nice patina with use

beautiful red 100% wool with carved and dyed shell buttons~ so pretty

both are free formed crochet, i just made it up as i went along, tried out new stitches, and had a blast
hope you like!

How bad is this weather?Huh  For some reason, I also started crocheting a new piece (star afghan) on Monday and have been working on it each day since.  I panic every time I hear a noise that the air con is going to give out!!!

I love your free form pieces though!  They have great texture and your choice of buttons is perfect!  Where did you find your little birdy ones?  I need to do something like this before winter rolls around and I change to complaining about the cold.

I can't believe spotlight has something as cool as that!!!  yay!! I'll be dropping in there tomorrow on my way home from work!

I totally feel for you not having air con!  I used to go and hang out in shopping centres and movie theatres when I lived in houses without air con.  And I hate sitting through movies...

I scored some excellent buttons at spotlight this arvo!  Thanks for the tip - I usually don't check out their buttons, but wow!  They've got some unreal ones there right now!

I know what you mean about this hot summer we are having. I'm in Australia. I admit though that this past week where temperatures reached the highest they have been for a while, I couldn't even think about crocheting. Just the through of that warm yarn <shiver>

Are these your first crochet attempts you say? they look sooo good. I've recently taken up knitting (been a crochet for years) and my first projects didn't resemble what I was planning to make  Smiley Smiley Smiley

Love those! It's freezing over here, so cold that 28 degrees seems warm! I wish I had those nech warmers right now, I'd wear them both at the same time! They're beautiful. And the buttons....awesome. never seen ones like those.
btw, my first crocheted piece looked like twisted hot garbage. It was a "tranny mess" as Christian Siriano would say. So you should be proud.
