That is the cutest thing ever! I can just imagine it on a little one, so cute!

My suggestions for sprinkles:
1. needle felt them right onto the hat.
2. use yarn that has some sparkle to it. like this:http://www.bountifulspinweave.com/amy/meteor_shower_yarn.JPG or maybe like this: http://www.mariesyarnsandmore.com/servlet/the-523/Bernat-Bling-Bling-Yarn/Detail

i think its cute just the way it is.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! I'll definitely be trying some of these techniques on my next hat   Grin

It's wonderful! I can only imagine how cute it looks on.  Cheesy

I'll add my two cents about the sprinkles... you might try embroidering french knots after it's finished to make raised sprinkles. But it's great without the sprinkles too.

Those hats are so cute, I just wish I could crochet.  I tried to learn many many times but everything always ended up in a blob shape.

Absolutely adorable.
And a blueberry cupcake hat is very boyish, I think =^x^=

If you use a multicolor yarn (like sock yarn) you can add different colors of sprinkles with little stitches.

I love this hat. I wish I had kids, but only to make them wear cupcake hats.
