San Mateo County Expo Center
May 30 & 31, 2009

Saturday 10am - 8pm
Sunday 10am - 6pm

What is Maker Faire?? Organized by the staff of Make and Craft magazines, Maker Faire is a newfangled fair that brings together science, art, craft and engineering plus music in a fun, energized, and exciting public forum. The aim is to inspire people of all ages to roll up their sleeves and become makers. This family-friendly event showcases the amazing work of all kinds of makersanyone who is embracing DIY and wants to share their accomplishments with an appreciative audience.

Craftster will have a booth, and we will have some super-cool make and take projects for you to make right there and take home with you (and theyre free!):

8-bit video game art coasters using perler beads
vintage button rings
and an awesome techie jewelry project inspired by the new book, Kilobyte Couture

Come meet Jungrrl, Batgirl and Kittykill, and make a cool craft to take home as a souvenir. Hope to see you at the Faire!

If you can do it, Maker Faire is totally worth the trip, no matter where you live. This will be the third year in a row that DH and I will be making the trip from Toronto. He builds robots so it's kind of like a pilgrimage for him, but I have total blast myself as well. I will definitely be dropping by the Craftster booth.

We were going to go but have such a busy crazy week. plus I found out the bus ride from BART is 1 hour not 15 minutes like I though. My boyfriend has bad motion sickness.

So sorry, I won't be make-ing my way there after all.  Cry I couldn't find anyone to carpool with me, and I realized I can't justify the amount of $ I know I would spend there today. I'll be home, building my first weaving loom, thinking of you craftsterers in San Mateo!  Kiss
