W.O.W. NICE JOB! May I ask a question? What exactly is the definition of rusching and how is it done? Seems like different people have different ideas on rusching- out of all the rusching I've seen, I like how you did yours the best! Thanks!

lets see, the ever handy online dictionary tells me that ruching is:: a pleated, fluted, or gathered strip of fabric used for trimming.

so pretty much its just a fancy word for gathering, umm i did mine by running two rows of basting stitiches at the top and two rows of basting stitches at the bottom,* then hand gathered all of the fabric to how i wanted it to look...on top of the fabric for the bottom part of the berthe... it took a lot of time and a lot of pins.

I went to a Ball at the captiol building in Harrisburg last night, i have to look through my pictures and the ones my friend and my professor took, and if there are any good ones I'll put them up with ones from the Ball thats coming up this weekend..

* doing this again to make a matching reticule for saturday, it appears that one row of gathering stitches top and bottom is  the best
