These are so amazing! I had never thought of using vinyl for bibs but it's genius! And I love how they turned out. My favorites are the fangs and the anatomical heart!

thanks everyone! i'm so happy with how they turned out! the recipient LOVED them too!

twiz, i'm extremely lucky to have an independant family owned store right by my house that has a huge vinyl selection, including a lot of vintage dead stock! but most fabric stores have the basics at least, fabricland carries at least 8-10 colours usually.

Luckily we have not had a problem with the roller foot leaving marks (yet). Lots of times we have just put vinyl through our regular sewing machine. We don't sew with it often enough to invest in a Teflon foot.

$18-20 a yard doesn't seem too bad! We both worked in a downtown fabric store a few years back & they would do special orders of glitter vinyl in the most amazing colours, but were charging $50-60 a yard!!! Shocked Shocked

holy shit! wow! $20 a yard or a metre is my personal cutting off point (i'm cheap, what can i say? Grin), $50-$60 is ridiculous! i definitely wouldn't be using it to make bibs if i'd paid that much! i buy it from https://www.fabricdepot.com/ the glitter vinyl isn't on the website, because not everything is, but you can contact them and buy it online. their service is really good - they may be the previous owners of fabricland, but they're a million times better in service, quality and selection than fabricland is! there are a few other sites that sell it too, but they usually have a minimum of 2yards per colour, which isn't as handy.

the duller vinyls with definitely work with a regular foot, sometimes i'm lazy! i can't remember which vinyl had marks... i've also worked with clothing weight vinyl that was "wet look" for burlesque costumes, and it definitely needed the teflon foot!

oooh, sucky! i thought you'd at least have a fabricland! (is fabricville the same as fabricland? i noticed fabricville in quebec, and just assumed it was the french vresion!)

you can order vinyl online.... i don't, because i'm SUPER anal about how my vinyl is stored (MUST be rolled! i make them roll it after they cut it!) and i figure they'll have to bend it to ship it.
