I felted this up a while ago, but haven't been fortunate enough to take any good pictures until recently. It's merino, nuno felted into silk.
I'm really pleased how the tree turned out, and how well it drapes.

It is very lovely.  Did you use a template for the tree or did you draw it freehand?

Lovely wrap! Did you put fibers on both sides of the silk, or just one side?

Thanks guys.  Smiley
I initially was hoping to use this for my wedding but decided on a shorter white felted stole.

Did you use a template for the tree or did you draw it freehand?

I laid down the fibre freehand, and moved it around till I was happy with it.
Trees shapes are quite organic so they're good to do like that

Did you put fibers on both sides of the silk, or just one side?

Just on one side, with the exception of the edge. That's on both sides.=

So the white is all silk and the brown is merino correct? I'm not familiar with how nuno felting is done.

I love this, the tree, the colors, everything.  I may have to try my hand at making one for myself.

This is very beautiful! You model it so well too! I also love the photography, looks as good as in those fashion magazines!

I love the colours in the scarf, and i love those big gum trees! (Being australian myself, as well!)  Grin

I have seen  some of your work on this forum, and you are very good at what you make!

Thanks Tracey, and welcome to craftster!
It's always good to see a new felting face around here - (especially an aussie face  Wink )
Have you found a wool source to begin felting?
Are you mostly interested in wet felting or needle-felting?

Check out the discussion page

Up the top is a post where I keep links to all the felting tutorials people have written

Best of luck as you begin your felting journey

Very nice!  It would have been lovely for a wedding shawl!

I love tree motifs too.  One of these days I'm gonna do a tree on something....I keep collecting graphics in a directory so I have them when I'm ready.
Not just trees but anything.  I find it clears my mind.
