is that cotton yarn?  I love your blanket!  What a great way to learn new stitches too!  I have a good book called The Harmony Guide to Knitting by Debra Mountford.   This link is the only one I could find that shows what the book looks like..

  I learned how to knit when I was expecting my 2nd kid sixteen years ago.  I found this book in the library then couldnt stop thinking about it and bought it!  I made a scarf for my oldest son out of neon green acrylic yarn to check out different stitches.  I still have the scarf and now my youngest wears it.  (Excellent in the school crowd.. can always find him).. Sorry to go on about me..
  I really loved your blanket.. and I also love the tree pattern!  You have inspired me to get my book out and look at the lovely patterns again..
  How long did it take you to make the blanket?  and how many panels did you make?

Thanks all!  If you can't tell, each square is about 1 foot x 1 foot.  It's all done in just really simple acrylic, because I wanted it to definitively hold the shapes of the stitches. It definitely is one of the most involved knitting projects I've ever done.  But none of the squares were too hard.  Even though I ended up frogging a few halfway through.
