Pencil case-monster! (a cute one, that is)

After my regular pencil case for some reason just decided to disappear, I went a week or so before I realising that keeping all my pencils in my pocket just isn't the most practical (or coolest, for that sake) way of transporting my stuff to school. So, I made a new one. I had some problems with the zipper, as I never have made them curved before.

That is so freakin cute! You could make it in any color for girls or boys or grown-ups (I would certainly use one).

My first thought was of my four-year-old nephew who wears glasses. With a little padding, this would be a perfect glasses case for a kid.

I have to say that I'm not the most skilled sewer in the universe yet, so the zipper was a real pain in the beh*nd. I worked on it for three days, while my homework just piled up into a cute little mountain beside my sewing machine. As you may see, the lining had to be stitched on in a kind of amateurish way, but it was the only way I could think of doing it then.

And yes– I will definately make sure it doesn't run off

1. I've been sewing for YEARS -- and I couldn't figure out how to do a U-shape zip in less time than you did.

2. "As you may see," --- no, we can't!  All us sewists have these little glitches that only we can see. I say, if you can't notice it from a moving bus, it don't matter.

3. "kind of amateurish"  No way! you did a swell job. Give yourself credit! I will, when I swipe this design. Besides, only a dedicated artist would take 3 days.
