I have been trying to practice my calligraphy, but I am not very good yet. Too much discipline needed. I decided to have a little fun, something a little organic. I decided to make initials for the kids. These are a little more modern than traditional illumination. I just kept adding things until they looked balanced to me. I plan to frame them to hang in their rooms.

They are all 6x6. They ones without a defined border scanned funny. I think they took 1-2 hrs. I never know what I will end up with when I start. It is relaxing that way. I do get hand cramps and getting the letters just so is a challenge.

These are lovely! The D is especially well done, and the ivy -- WOW!  Looking at what you've done with the letters, I bet you're good at calligraphy, even if you don't admit it.

Hope to see more of your work soon.
