Just curious if anyone is open to trading in their etsy shop?  So far I have done one trade with an etsy seller and it went very well.  Pros? Cons?

Are you open to being convo'd about a trade?

I don't think this is necessarily a bad thing to discuss, but tread carefully please, as I will have to moderate anything that seems like an invitation for personal swaps.  Undecided

I've never been asked, but if I like what the other seller is selling, I'd be up for it.  Grin

I've been asked before but unfortunately the person who was interested didn't have anything I wished to trade for, and the one time I contacted someone who stated she was up for a trade never responded.  It's pretty much hit or miss.

I've traded, and I guess I don't mind doing it, but it is hard for me to say no to someone if they don't have anything I want.  I feel like I would be personally insulting them or something, but I guess that's the risk you take if you ask someone to trade... ?  I don't know.  I think I'd prefer to use craftster for swapping and etsy for making money.

Lately I've had a few people ask to trade, and I felt bad because I had to tell them no.   Sad  I make sure to say how nice there shop is, but if I don't need it, what can I do?

I was in the process of sealing an Etsy sale when I happened to look at the buyer's blog & she had some bags for sale. I made a nice comment on them & she then asked if I would like to trade instead. I felt bad saying no, but I really couldn't use her bag even tho they were nicely made & it wouldn't have been a fair trade (her bag was smaller than what I was selling her). I felt the same way that CamOovas feels - I hated saying no, but I wasn't in a position to trade. She was ok w/it. Someday I'll consider doing a swap - it'll prob be fun.

I'm not sure if I would want to trade.  Also, I'm really not sure how the mechanics work?  Do you just take it off your listed items and send it?  I'd rather sell on etsy and trade here.
