I took a plain black pillow, $9.99, and crocheted a "square" design to applique to the front. Hope you like it, I have been crocheting since Dec of 08 and this is a side project to the afghan I'm making.

I love the flower motifs!  Is that your own pattern?  I can't believe you've only been crocheting for less than 2 months! Great job!

Yes, It's my own design/pattern. I have been working on a hexagon afghan, so the circle design comes from the hexagon pattern( they begin with circles). Then I made tiny granny squares, and turned them diagonal. I just stitched them together with yarn. Thanks for the nice comment.

 Shocked That is just gorgeous

You have taken a plain pillow and turned it into a beautiful work of art

Beautiful! This was a great idea - I've thought about making pillow covers, but applique would be good, too.

Like they say "neccesity is the mother of invention"- Due to my newness to the art of crochet I could not decide how to cover  a pillow form in a way that seemed right. Also , I would need to drive 30 minutes to get a pillow form from the craft store. So I went to target and found a black pillow and decided to make it an applique! I am a big fan of "improvise, adapt, overcome!" Thanks

I really like how you updated a plain pillow - very creative.

I love the three-dimensional look of it.
