I came upon a method of turning an ordinary pair of women's wooden or plastic-soled clogs, slides or sandals into fashion or costume boots. Here's a picture of a pair of ever-so-slightly above the knee boots using black upholstery vinyl for the uppers:

The above boots were made on a pair of plastic slides I picked up at our local Goodwill. I've made boots that cost under $10 for the materials, no lie! The most expensive parts on these black vinyl boots were the zippers.

these are absolutely amazing..when i clicked the little preview window i expected to see a recon of said boots.............. .boy was i surprised

i have a little book on shoe making that my mom picked up for me on the internet, but it focused mostly on literal shoes (pumps, flats etc) so this is AMAZING because i love boots

have shoes i would tear apart in seconds to give this a go..

Your boots rock!!!  I would LOOOOVEE to know how you made them.  Sent you a PM.  I do pole dancing for a sport and as far as I'm concerned, they're safety gear!!

Awesome! Do you mind if I ask how thick the vinyl you used was?

Haha, I was thinking the same thing, only I have teensy feet / ankles compared to my calves! It's so frustrating when you go to buy boots, b/c I can only get low cut ones or special order them, and that's EXPENSIVE!

You made these?  No.  Really?  If I could do something HALF as professional, I'd be so giddy they'd think I was heavily medicated.  Or try to medicate me.  Either way.. I'm SUPER impressed!  WOW!
